Have you tried updating your video drivers?
I have had no problems (which is a first) with this game. Try the drivers and then maybe save for an upgraded card if that doesn't work. If it's starting now, it's only going to get worse with newer games.
I have used 3 sets of drivers the one I am using now are beta drivers made for Tf2 it helps out in a lot of ways except with those weird lines.It is a older PC I am attempting to milk a little more life out of it. Every other game plays ok with out those weird lines so I am at a loss.
